Julian is a highly respected industry leader with over 25 years of global experience in Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) and Financial Crime Compliance. Having worked across the Middle East, Asia, Australia, and Europe, he has held senior leadership roles in both industry and consulting, advising businesses on regulatory compliance, financial crime risk management, and governance frameworks.

Julian is now a consultant and a sessional lecturer for the Master of Financial Crime and Fraud, contributing thought leadership to the next generation of compliance professionals. Throughout his career, he has worked with global financial institutions and a Big 4 consultancy firm, bringing deep expertise in regulatory change, AML/CTF, and sanctions compliance.

Previously, Julian served as the Regional Head of Financial Crime for HSBC Middle East, MLRO for Standard Chartered UAE, and MLRO for Jefferies International Investment Bank in the DIFC. His extensive experience includes leading large-scale financial crime compliance programs, overseeing Compliance and Operational Risk functions, and driving regional regulatory engagement in the Middle East. His deep understanding of regional financial crime challenges and ability to implement best-in-class compliance frameworks have made him a sought-after expert in the field.
